Small Group Experience: Through years of experience, Green Gecko’s preferred group size is 18 – 20 explorers. We find the smaller groups under 10 or 12 people can become quite fragmented as 3 or 4 couples make up the majority of the group usually, and they don’t assimilate as well as groups with a few more people.
The opposite can be said about groups of 25 to 40, which some companies have. For us, this is just too big and overwhelming and the loss of personalized service ensures that guests are less likely to be happy and content. Our preferred trip size is 18 or 20 people. Bamboo Beach Cottages: Our trips include rustic native beach cottages, mostly made from local bamboo. They are situated right on the beach. These cottages are based on double occupancy and include a comfortable foam mattress and mosquito net. Private one person cottages are available for 1000 pesos extra.
Superior Comfort and Cuisine: We use traditional Philippine bangkas on our trips from El Nido to Coron or Coron to El Nido. They are not the regular day-tour boats, as they are all required to go through major renovations to allow them to be licensed by the coast guard for the 3 day expedition. Our bangkas are designed for comfort, with both shaded, as well as sun tan areas to keep everyone happy.
Our chefs prepare amazingly delicious buffet meals featuring the amazing “catch of the day”, along with international as well as local Filipino foods. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are also available upon request. We include unlimited drinking water, coffee, and tea throughout your journey. Also free Jungle Juice (Rum / Pineapple) from 6pm – 10 pm.

Frequently asked questions
The ferry is just a direct trip, usually around 4 hours long, that takes the fastest possible route without any stops to Coron and El Nido.
The expedition is an adventure trip with many stops between El Nido and Coron, taking several days and visiting the most interesting locations.
Pick up time begins early morning between 8:30 am – 9:30 am.
Arrival time is usually late afternoon before sunset.
In addition to all your luggage:
- mosquito repellent
- sunscreen
- towel
- dry bag
It’s recommended to have your things in a dry bag, such as a change of clothes, battery pack, camera/phone, and any medicine or items you need to keep dry that you need daily. Also, cover your luggage with trash bags if possible.
Only cash payment is accepted in Philippine currency. There are ATMs open 24/7 in town that can help you withdraw cash.
